St Austell try and force their way through

DIRECTOR of rugby Steve Murley revealed that he “was not in this business to make excuses” after his St Austell side were defeated 18-15 at home by Tiverton Chiefs, writes Gareth Davies.

In a tight match, with free-flowing rugby in short supply due to the wet conditions, both sides performed admirably to deliver a compelling spectacle for another large Tregorrick Park crowd.

A try from Greg Mills and penalty conversion from Mark Down gave Tiverton an 8-0 lead, before Saints repaid the compliment through Ben Chenoweth and Liam Freeman respectively...
