Chapman delighted with two new signings
DELIGHTED: Joint St Austell player-manager Jason Chapman

“I’m over the moon” is the message from St Austell, having completed two more signings this week, as they go back to pre-season training tonight.

Friday’s announcement of the signing of Jason Vincent was followed by the capturing of Dan Richardson from Falmouth Town yesterday, two signings that joint-manager Jason Chapman feels will bolster his squad.

The lively Vincent signs on from Torpoint Athletic, while former Bodmin Town midfielder Richardson is another shrewd signing by St Austell bosses this summer.

They are added to the two other arrivals, Bodmin Town powerhouse Jordan Pearce and Helston captain Kirk Davies.

Chapman told the Voice: “I am over the moon with the two new signings. They have given the squad extra dimensions that were needed.

“Jason Vincent comes in after an excellent second half of the season with Torpoint and is a different type of striker than we have at the club. That will give us a new option that we perhaps missed at times last year.

“Dan Richardson is proven to be a top midfielder at this level and has done it constantly for years now.

“He is a midfielder that I have admired for a long time and played with so know what qualities he has.

“Dan will give us the driving force from midfield in an attacking sense and will be able to get past the front players and give us another option.

“These signings have given us extra possibilities to play in different way against different opposition.”

St Austell are due to return to pre-season training tonight and the four new arrivals have been snapped up to replace the departing Bodmin trio Harry Evans, Olly Brokenshire and Neil Slateford and ex-Torquay United striker Liam Prynn, who joined Launceston.

It has also announced that former St Blazey football secretary George Allen is joining the club’s committee.

Allen said: “It is with immense pleasure that I will be joining St Austell football club as a member of the club’s committee.

“My main concern will be with the football side of the club, meeting and greeting match officials and the officers and management of the away side.

“Having met with the chairman and officers of the club, I am very much looking forward to the coming season and hopefully many years to come with St Austell.”

Meanwhile Allen’s former club St Blazey returned to training on Monday night and their new manger Stuart Morgan has managed to sign two new players since his appointment.

One player who is returning to Blaise Park is winger Ashley Piggott.

Piggott is back for a third spell at the club and he is joined by Plymstock United’s Josh Harris.
