Exmouth first up for new boys Sticker
TOUGH FIRST GAME: Stickerís Matt Lloyd clashes with Kevin Hill from Exmouth in last seasonís Walter C Parson Cup tie

STICKER’S first game at Step Six will be away at Exmouth after the 2017-18 South West Peninsula League fixtures were released.

The Division One West champions were promoted to the Premier Division during the summer and will begin the new season with a tricky trip to Exmouth Town on Saturday, August 12.

Their first home game at this level will be a week later when Newquay, who narrowly avoided relegation, are the visitors.

Ivybridge also visit on August 26 and it is anticipated that the first game under floodlights will be on Monday, October 2 when they are due to host Plymouth Argyle’s reserve side.

For the first time ever, they will meet St Austell in a competitive league match and this will replace the annual St Austell v St Blazey match on Boxing Day and Good Friday.

Sticker will host the Lillywhites first on Boxing Day at 11am, with the return at Poltair on March 30, 2018.

Andrew Avery’s side were drawn to face Alan Carey’s Porthleven in the first round of the Walter C Parson Cup and that will be played on September 16.

If they are successful, they will take on Bodmin in the second round on October 14.

They have one Friday night game scheduled on November 3 when they visit Bodmin Town.

Their last game of the season is on April 7 at home to Camelford.

St Austell meanwhile will take on another newly promoted team Stoke Gabriel, in their first league game of the season on August 12.

Their competitive season actually begins a week before the start of the league campaign as they are in the FA Cup.

After their first league match of the season their first away match is at Torpoint Athletic on Tuesday, August 15.

They also have FA Vase dates penciled in for September 9 and 23 and games against fierce rivals Bodmin Town are at home on October 10 and away on April 17.

They conclude their season at Saltash United on April 7.

Both Sticker and St Austell are involved in the South West Peninsula League’s Charity Day.

Division One West champions Sticker kick-off the day’s action on July 30 against Division One East champions Stoke Gabriel, in the Charity Vase.

St Austell then face Peninsula Premier League champions Tavistock, inset, in the Charity Bowl, as they look to defend the title which they won last year against Bodmin Town.
