Robartes memorial is granted listed status

A WAR memorial dedicated to a former St Austell MP who was killed in action during the First World War as he rescued a comrade has been given listed building status to protect it for the future.
The animal drinking trough outside the council offices on Penwinnick Road formed part of the Captain Thomas Agar-Robartes war memorial on Truro Road and relocated in 1998.
Last year the war memorial on Truro Road was granted Grade II listed status and added to the List of Builodings of Special Architectural or Historic Interest...
