FOWEY Community Hospital, which has been closed since 2016, could be reopened in the future - as a nursing home.

The “exciting” plans are being proposed to help take some of the pressure off of the Royal Cornwall Hospital and stop bed blocking....

Fowey community hospital should never have closed,
but to open again as a nursing home to help royal Cornwall hospital and stop bed blocking is a good reason to do this, as long as it is done well let get on with it as soon as possible san

I attended the Fowey Parish Council meeting last week at which the plan for a nursing home was presented. I was very impressed with the initial plan. However, I was surprised at the lack of interest shown by other residents who were at the meeting. A hospital is not practical in Fowey and the nursing home seems to be an excellent alternative.
