ASSURANCES have been made that the shake up of health and social care in Cornwall will not lead to the privatisation of the NHS, but will stop Cornwall Council paying over the odds for services and will deliver better care for patients.

The NHS and local authority is overhauling the way services are currently commissioned due to it being financially unsustainable, as well as them not being able to guarantee an improvement in the quality and safety of care....
