A COUPLE reunited with their elderly house cat, who they thought was dead after being missing for two weeks, are convinced that having 15-year-old Thomas microchipped saved his life - as he was alone outside the house for the first time.

Thomas has been part of Andrew and Lisa Avery’s life for nearly a decade and had never left the safety of the couple’s home.

When he disappeared 14 days ago they feared the worst. Despite daily (and nightly) search parties and a social media and leaflet campaign, the tabby cat was nowhere to be found, leaving the distraught cat lovers fearing the worst...
