THE LACK of polling cards and canvassing by candidates is being blamed for only six per cent of residents in St Blazey turning up to vote in the St Blaise Town Council by-election.

Just 170 people out of nearly 3,000 residents cast their vote in the by-election for the north ward on Thursday, which saw retiring councillor Amos Putt replaced by Steven Ford, who won against Cietese Adams by 19 votes.

Residents are in uproar after many told the Voice they had only found out about the by-election following the event and are calling for another election to be held to exercise their democratic right…
